Hair-Information Report

Hair-Makawe
Hair doesn’t grow in places such as lips,
palm of hands and soles of feet.
Some hair is easy to see like
eyebrows, eyelashes, head, arms
and legs, but there is also invisible
like on your cheeks but it’s only
invisible for some people.

Hair has different jobs….
Like your head, the hair on
your head keeps you warm,
and keeps a small cushioning
for your skull.
Eyelashes, your eyelashes protects
your eyes, by decreasing light and
dust to go in them.
Eyebrows, your eyebrows also
protect your eyes, by making
sure no sweat goes into your eyes.

Hair Comes From Where?...
Wether it’s your head, ankle or arm,
all hair rises out of your the
same way, starts at the root,
the root is inside a FOLLICLE,
like a small tube in your skin.
Hair grows and it pushes up
from the root and out the
follicle, through skin where
it can be seen.
Small blood vessels at the
base of the follicle feed the
hair root to keep growing.
But once the hair is at the
skin's surface the cells within
the strand of hair aren’t alive
 anymore.
The hair you see on your body
contains dead cells,
That’s why it doesn’t cause
pain when  someone cuts your
hair with scissors.

Nearly every follicle is attached
to an oil gland, which is also
known as a sebaceous gland,
these oil glands produce oil,
which makes hair shiny.

Hair today, gone tomorrow
You have over 100,000 hairs
on your head, but you lose
some every day. Around 50
to 100 hairs come out each
day while you're washing
your hair, brushing it or
combing it, or just sitting
still. But don't worry, new
hairs are grow back replacing
the hairs that have fallen out.

Every hair on your head grows
for about 2 to 6 years. Then it
rests for a few months and
finally falls out. It is replaced
by a new hair, which starts to
grow from the same hair follicle.
